2023 saw a 60% increase in Indians crossing to UK on illegal small boats: Report

There was a 60% increase in Indian nationals making the dangerous English Channel crossing on small boats in 2023, making Indians the ninth-largest cohort which arrived in this manner after paying smugglers in Calais hundreds of pounds to do so. The vast majority of Indians are males aged 18 to 39 who then make asylum claims.
